If you are participating for Veteran's Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2015, please be at VFW Post 2179 no later than 8am so that we can all leave for the first monument at 8:20am.
**Dress Blues and Grays plus Covers for Post Members, Dress Whites and Blues with Scarves for Unit Auxiliary Members**
Ceremony at VFW at 11am followed by VFW2179/AL515 Color Guard at Texas Roadhouse in Holmdel at 1pm followed by lunch.

Sat 2/14: Valentine's Day Party 7pm + Cabo San Lucas trip winner drawing, at VFW 2179. Trip is sponsored by AL Post 515 and VFW 2179. Tickets are still available.
Sat 3/14: Annual AL Post 515 Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner and 9th Annual Kristin Kinlin Memorial Fundraiser, 5pm, in the Hall at VFW 2179.

Coming Up for May!
Events beginning with this week's Friday Night Dinner at VFW 2179:
Please remember that the annual placing of Flags on Veterans graves at Fairview Cemetery is Saturday, 5/10 and volunteers are needed! Meet at VFW 2179 in time to leave by 8:30am or meet at the cemetery for 9am (route 35 South diagonally opposite Whole Foods). VFW 2179 and AL Post 515 would appreciate your help with the placing of these Flags in time for Memorial Day! There are 2,400 Veteran graves at Fairview dating back to the French & Indian wars (pre Revolutionary War). We do our best to place a Flag on as many Veterans graves as we can but we need help to make it happen because we don't want any Veteran forgotten. Please share and join us on Saturday 5/10. Thank you! (In the event of severe weather, the 'rain date' is Saturday, 5/17).
Also on Saturday, 5/10 is the Installation of VFW 2179 Officers and Auxiliary ceremony at dinner at 8pm.
Monday, 5/12: Mens & Ladies Monthly Meetings! 7p. Mens Elections!!!
On Friday, 5/16, from 5pm to 8pm, we will host an AL 515 Helps Its Own pasta fundraiser dinner for our member, Bill Fraser, who has been battling cancer for over a year, to help with medical bills. Bill is a Vietnam Veteran and a member in good standing with VFW 4303, the Elks, and a supporter of the Knights Of Columbus. $10 per person. Please share to help spread the word so we can all show Bill we care and support him for all his service to God and Country!
Thursday 5/22 through Tuesday 5/27: Fleet Week NY.
Monday 5/26: Memorial Day: Middletown Memorial Day Parade (AL 515 is in the parade!)

Friday Night Dinner + Annual POW/MIA Remembrance at VFW 2179 Tonight
Friday Night Dinner by Chef Sammie (spaghetti & meatballs, $8p/p) and the annual POW/MIA remembrance ceremony tonight at VFW 2179. Dinner begins at 6pm, ceremony begins at 7:30pm (in the Hall). All Welcome. Join Us!
